I use a regular bottle brush, and it works just fine, as this one is awkward to use. Perhaps I need to get used to it.

I wish I would have been informed that the jug pictured was out of stock. I was sent the jug with a plastic cap but wanted the jug with the handle and wooden top. Ultimately, it’s a good buy. I’ll be purchasing the jug I originally wanted.
